The School Library started with a small collection in the year 1979 with its objectives to cater to the information needs and demands of scientists, teachers, staff, students and research scholars. The library has grown through the years with regard to its collection and holds a unique place of learning in the campus. It has now a collection of nearly 25,000 volumes including books, bound journals, thesis and other reading materials. The Library also receives newsletters, bulletins, reports, pamphlets, etc from national and international research institutes. The collection of the Library are kept in both closed and opened access systems arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Classification, 19th edition. The books in the reference section are all kept in closed system for consultation within the Library only. During the current year, the Library has procured the latest edition of Britannica Encyclopedia 1-32 vols, 15th edition 2005, World of learning 55th edition 2005 and wealth of India, 2005 edition to its collection.
At present the Library has on its roll a total membership of about 470 members (students numbering 213 in B.Sc, 111 in M.Sc, 71 teachers, 63 technical & administrative staff and 13 Ph. D scholars). During the current year 6541 books were issued and 5035 books were returned and had a total number of 6752 visitors to the library. The timing of the library is from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on all weekdays except on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Automation and Networking under INFLIBNET program
During the current year, extension of two rooms in the Library building was constructed for a seperate room for Library Automation and Internet. On completion of installations and networking of computers, one SERVER abd terminals, the Library has started the automation work using SOUL software and so far about 1500 books database has been created.
Internet Connectivity
The library has a Server and a terminal providing Internet connectivity through BSNL for the Students, teachers, and research scholars. It also provides facilities like computer printing, scanning, CD writing and photocopying of materials.
