The Department of Entomology has started since the inception of this institution, M.Sc(Ag) programme in Entomology was started in 1998 and consequently second, third and fourth batches were admitted in the year 1999, 2000 and 2001 respectively.
Thrust area of Research:
i) Identification of Key pests in different crops of the state.
ii) Pest management in field and horticultural crops in storage rice
iii) The department had initiated for enhancement of more studies on productive Entomology.
Academic activities in the department:
The department of Entomology is actively involved in teaching both at undergraduate and post-graduate level. It also carries out different research works in the field of Entomology.
