The Department of Zoology was established in the year 1997 at its headquarters: Lumami. Since then, it caters to the academic requirements of the students of M.Sc, Zoology. The department also runs M. Phil & Ph. D programmes in Zoology. At present, 15 students are enrolled for PhD programme. The department is equipped with faculty & facilities to guide research programmes in diversified areas like Reproduction Biology, Fish Biology and Fisheries, Ecology and Drosophilid genetics and functional genomics.
