The present Post Graduate Department of Commerce owes its origin to the Department of Commerce, NEHU, Nagaland Campus which was established in the year 1981. Besides Post Graduate teaching, the Department is offering Doctoral research programmes. The Department is striving hard for imparting higher education in Commerce and has taken steps to update the course curriculum keeping in view of the development in Commerce education.
Student Intake:
The sanctioned strength of the students intake capacity in the Department is thirty (30).
Courses offered:
The Department offers Master of Commerce programme of two year duration. There are four papers in each semester and sixteen papers in total during the programme.
Thrust area of Research:
The Research areas undertaken by the Scholars for doctoral degree mostly on Infrastructual areas of this economy such as Government policies, transport sector, small scale industries etc.
Academic activities in the Department:
Besides the normal Post Graduate teaching, the Department offers Doctoral Research programme. At the moment four research scholars are registered for Ph.D under the supervision of Faculty members.
